Full-Time Shotokan Instructor
Glenn Riley is a dedicated full-time instructor and the owner of three dojos in Leeds. His journey in Shotokan Karate began in 1985 at the age of 15. With 39 years of experience, Glenn has trained under some of the most respected and accomplished karate instructors globally.
Driven by a passion for continuous learning, Glenn has had the privilege of training with esteemed instructors, including:

Glenn was a dedicated student of Bob Rhodes (7th Dan) and the late Randy Williams (6th Dan). A skilled competitor in both kata and kumite, he earned the title of British Champion by winning the Karate England National Championships in 2009.
In August 2011, Glenn took the significant step of opening his own dojo, starting with just five students. Over the years, Akashi Shotokan Karate Club has grown to become one of the largest clubs in West Yorkshire, now boasting over 200 members. Glenn remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of karate for both his students and himself.
